DEC 4 - UPDATE
Peace out Seattle Children’s. It’s been nice making acquaintances and all - but this won’t be a long term friendship. Miles finished his last chemotherapy treatment in this series today. We have been coming to this hospital once a week or more for over seven weeks. Lord willing and the creek don’t rise - we won’t be back.
After chemo today he went to his radiation treatment and proudly signed paperwork allowing his journey with proton radiation and brain cancer to be a part of scientific research. A side note - his doctor was impressed he could sign in cursive and I was pleased to tell him that CA students are still held accountable to read and write cursive or joined italics. .
Miles has five radiation treatments left before we head home. The plan is to enjoy Christmas and then he gets more imaging the first week of January before we dive into more rounds of chemo. He will receive chemo as an inpatient at OHSU for three days every 28 days for six months.
Moving mountains - one at a time.
