Happy Birthday Miles!
A trip down memory lane to celebrate Miles’s birthday week. He turns double digits on April 18th and he’s pumped. We’ve always unapologetically made a big deal about each boy’s annual trip around the sun.
It’s a time to honor them, to reflect on their growth, and to enjoy time with friends and family. It’s never been about gifts, but instead about celebrating life and sharing experiences.
This year for his birthday Miles is hoping you can help make other children’s lives better by sending a “birthday gift” not to him, but to either OHSU or Asante. The gifts will be distributed by child life specialists to kids in hospitals who arrive with nothing in the midst of trauma - much like Miles did.
We will never forget waking up in Portland with absolutely nothing - and in walks a woman with activities, toys, and items for comfort.
Due to COVID, supplies of toys and activities for children in hospitals are low. Items needed include board games, Lego sets, Playdough kit/activities, and art supplies. Items must be new in package and can be sent to either address below:

Thanks for helping celebrate Miles and loving all of us. He’s ready to party this week before he warriors into round four of chemo on 4/19 - and there’s nothing like some celebrations and birthday cake to fuel a warrior’s spirit.
