Love Grows in Small Spaces

Today marks day seven of the fifth round of chemo and Miles is in the heart of the battle. He’s had a long day in a small room receiving chemo, stronger anti-nausea meds and blood. They say love is built in small spaces - and there’s no shortage of love from his care team in Medford.

Asante is in the middle of a massive construction project which includes a new pediatric floor and larger infusion rooms for kids. During the construction phase the pediatric oncology/infusion space is limited in space, but never in care. We are hopeful that Miles will be through treatment, cancer free, and will never have to set foot in the new space - but it’s nice to know other kids will have nicer accommodations.

In the meantime, Miles doesn’t mind the small space as long as he’s got a good book and some Doritos to fuel the battle.
