More than 4

It seems almost perfect that Miles FINALLY began his participation in a clinical research trial for recurrent Sonic the Hedgehog Medulloblastoma today at Stanford during the month of September - Childhood Cancer Awareness.

πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

Perfect because it shows how desperately we need help to advocate for more research for childhood cancer.

πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

Cancer is still the leading cause of death by disease in children.

πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

This is our β€œHail Mary” for Miles. We know any other option won’t work and we don’t know this won’t.

πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

We know that the government still only gives 3.8% of their annual funding to pediatric cancer research. πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

We know that on average each chemotherapy drug was approved before 1970 and were not developed for Children’s growing bodies and therefore 95% of survivors have life long medical issues.

πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

We know that each bag of chemo Miles has had cost 7k and each pill 2k. Big pharma has banked almost a quarter million off of Miles and it didn’t work.

πŸ’›πŸŽ—πŸ’›

But we don’t know this trial won’t work - so again we leave home, again we sign papers, and again we enter the unknown because we know our medical world must do better. And we want to be a part of the solution.
