Greatness

As we continue on our journey of battling brain cancer for a third time - we continue to be humbled by the generosity of others, to be filled with gratitude, to live each day not in fear, but in hope, to continue to see the silver linings.

Today we were deeply humbled yet again and showered by the generosity of others as Miles’s hog Petunia entered the auction ring and sold not just once but three times.

CLT Logging - Tristan and Monet Allen paid $100 a pound. Bringing Miles and all of us to tears. They are the definition of community.

Then an amazing group of Calfire contractors working the McKinney Fire bought his hog again for an extremely generous amount.

Finally, our dear friends Finley Farming bought his hog for a third time.

Miles was brought to tears in the auction ring a second time. He is proud to be able to pledge over $12,000 to the Asante Foundation to help finish building the pediatric cancer rooms at the Olsrud Family Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.

Carter was also generously supported by CA Outdoor Properties and dear friends the Heffernan family. He too will be donating generously to the Asante Foundation.

It is said that “Your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give.” If there’s any way to illustrate greatness - today was it.
